Tea Talk
The lovely Ruth hosts Tea Talk every week at her blog Celebrate Friendship. Brew a cup - hot or cold and join us for some lively conversation and lots of mugs.
I know I haven't joined in on the tea talk in a few weeks. I had full intentions of doing so but life kept getting in the way.
I'm having a nice cup of Almond Roca Rooibois in my princess house mug, which looks like the one below. I received a set of these as a wedding gift from one of my aunts who knew I loved hers. I bring them out when a friend comes over (you know who you are!).

I'm feeling excited as I've been following World Cup Football games lately. Holland just lead their division to the semi-finals which is what we were hoping for and France and Italy are both out. I know this probably means nothing to a lot of you but its still exciting at our house.On my mind....SUMMER! What a summer this will be. We are going to my best friends house and travelling home to my family for my grandmother's 75 birthday. I have great plans to do lessons with the kids during the afternoons when it's too hot to go outside. I also hope to catch up on my reading. What are you doing this summer?

Tea Talk- The Twisted Ankle vs. The Birthday
I'm having tea. Shocking I know since I'm usually on my 3rd cup of coffee by now.
My cup is the mug my mom brought back from her trip to Sea World in San Diego. It has Shamu on it. It is quite large and holds about 3 cups of liquid. A great cup for coffee.

On my mind is my husband's birthday. I had great plans for today: making his favourite dinner-Oma's Pork Chops; making Lemon Meringue pie with the kids for desert; and having a nice evening with him. This plan has been dropped. Last night while walking with the baby to the neighbours I somehow twisted my ankle. I actually believe the road came out and attacked me. :)
My amazing husband took this morning off to take me to our local medical clinic. I have to keep off my feet for the next week, as much as possible (a great reason not to clean the house), however, this affects my birthday plans for my husband tonight. So, therefore I'm feeling a little depressed.

Last week my Bible Babes and I finished our study on Kelly Minter's No Other Gods. The last study was on the Book of Ruth. I was reminded of my husband in my favourite verse from Ruth:
Come and join Ruth for a cup of tea at Celebrate Friendship.Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Tea Talk-Trust
I'm having water because I need to show off my new water bottle. No mug this week. I saw this bottle and had to have it. I'm always looking for a good water bottle and have found one or two that I liked but I 've never been totally sold on.
I purchased this one with two close friends in a 3 pack at Costco. We were all excited because they looked cool. But we got even more excited when we realized that they wouldn't leak and the top had a clip on so that we could clip the bottle to our bags. I highly recommend this water bottle.

The verse referenced on it is Ephesians 1:18 - I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. A beautiful gift, from a beautiful friend.On my mind right now is how its funny when God wants us to teach us something everything we read seems to coincide with this. As I've mentioned before, my "Bible Babes" and I are doing Kelly Minter's study "No Other Gods" which is about turning from our idols and focusing our trust on God. I'm also reading Beth Moore's "Get Out of That Pit" about removing ourselves from the pits we've fallen into by trusting God. I've also started this week on a personal study of Esther through the coffee cup Bible studies by Sandra Glahn (Espresso with Esther - have to love anything that has coffee in the title) . This week she had us read all of Esther. What struck me- Esther trusted God enough to go to the King even though "If I perish, I perish." (Esther 4:16b). Notice the correlation. Trust. God is right now teaching me to lean on Him and trust Him to provide for me, guide me and protect me.

Tea Talk - The Blind Side
I'm having my third cup of Maxwell House coffee. I prefer more organic beans, but it was on sale this week so that is what got purchased. I've also added some Hazelnut Creamer to it so it is tasting so delicious and sweet on such a cold glum rainy day.
My cup is the cup my hubby purchased for me on Valentines Day. It is a simple white mug with the Starbucks logo. Now you have to understand that being Canadian my hubby is loyal to Tim Hortons. However, I prefer Starbucks. He always bugs me on not being loyal to the Canadian favourite.
I'm feeling very grateful for what I have, because on my mind is the movie the "Blind Side". I cried for the first 45 minutes. I was very emotional at the thought of what one man went through at such a young age and how God raised him to be a man of courage and virtue. What an amazing story of God's blessing in His time.

Tea Talk - Pepsi Afternoon
I'm having....1/2 glass of cold Pepsi. I gave pop up for Lent and now try to only have 1 glass of pop a day. Since it's 24 C here today, I may treat myself to two.
My Cup....is my favourite Princess House crystal beverage glass. It holds 1 whole can of pop and then some. It's similar to the following picture, however, I must have the old style because mine is not tulip shaped, but straight. I love the new look and may have order some when the kids get older and I'm not worried about them breaking glasses.

I'm feeling....happy, I just had a few friends over this morning as we planned the Big Cook for next week. Now, I have to get the laundry out on the line before 2:30 pm or they won't dry by dinner.
On my mind....that we take so much for granted that God gives us and that He definitely can get our attention when He wants to. While preparing for my bible study this week, I was definitely slapped around by Him, in a good way. It was truly a wake up call on His behalf.

Tea Talk- Waiting.....
Right now I'm Having:
This is a lovely tea with a cinnamon spice tone to it. It is very comforting and very addictive. Its similar to drinking spice cake without the crumbs or the calories.My Mug is from Cows. I used to collect anything that was a cow. When I first moved out on my own my kitchen was cowified. During my honeymoon, my hubby and I went to the Cow store in Banff, Alberta, Canada. I purchased the mug with a Cow sitting among a field of sunflowers and the quote "Common Cow taking time to Stop and Smell the flowers."
I'm waiting right now for my hubby to get home as we are going to my in-laws for Easter and to see our niece get married. So, I guess you could say I'm bored. I'm pretty much packed, but I know once he gets home, I'll be busy because of those last minute things that need to be done.
My Bible Babes and I are currently working on the study "No Other Gods" by Kelly Minter. Its a great study on our idols that we worship and how they claim control over our lives. This week we were to name the idols that take priority over our time with God. I have to admit that my friends are my small "g" gods. I dislike quietness and boredom. I'm a get up and go kind of girl and I have to be doing something always. I rarely am sitting - something I notice by the end of the day when the dogs are barking. So this week I'm going to leave a quote that has been profound to me from Kelly Minter this week.
There will always be a million nagging tugs on our time and attention, and somewhere in the middle of all the tugging it is essential we build a fortress wherein only God, His words, and our heart exist together for a time. Tea Talk - 3rd Cup of Coffee
So today while visiting Karinann's site, I discovered Tea Talk with Ruth at Celebrate Friendship. This a weekly meme where everybody shares a quick "tea" break with each other. I'm all for tea breaks or breaks of any kind!
This week, however, I'm on my third cup of coffee. I had one this morning while listening to a webinar with A Woman Inspired and then I had one with the lovely Andrea during Bible Babes. Andrea makes a wonderful cup of coffee.
Today I'm drinking my coffee out of my "I'm Not Wonder Woman but God Made Me Wonderful " mug. It is a tall slender pink striped mug that I purchased 4 years ago at the Woman of Faith Conference. In fact, I purchased the matching bag as well. On the other side of the mug is a good reminder for me -
I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!" Psalm 139:14
If I can leave anyone with something to remember and get through the week with it is this:
This has been brought home for me these last couple of days while I have attended the Get Revived Conference through A Woman Inspired. For anyone who hasn't attended a webinar conference I can only say - Why Not! You have to try it. I'm very excited of the things I have learned and I have only listened to 4 of the speakers. I have been convicted of many things in my life because of it. Things like:
- In forgiving others, only doing good can subdue or bring the wrong doer over and that I can never make someone feel badly enough about the wrong they have committed.
- That if I don't spend time with God, I have nothing to offer.
- Behold God so intently that we can't help but to reflect Him!
- God's calling is mine alone and different from everybody else's.
If I can leave anyone with something to remember and get through the week with it is this:
Its Ok to say No.
