Music Monday - Glory to God

My husband grew up in the Christian Reformed Church. Most members of this denomination are from a Dutch background. My husband's parents both immigrated from the Netherlands after WWII. One of the traditions of CRC church is to sing Ere zig God during Christmas services. They do say you can sing in English, but there is something lost in sound. I have, however, put the translation of the song for you.
Glory to God! Glory to God!
In the highest, in the highest, in the highest!
Peace be on Earth, peace be on Earth
To the people whom God delights in.
Glory to God in the highest, glory to God in the highest!
Peace be on Earth, peace be on Earth, peace be on Earth, peace be on Earth
To the people, to the people whom God delights in,
To the people whom God delights in, whom God delights in.
Glory to God! Glory to God!
In the highest, in the highest, in the highest!
Peace be on Earth, peace be on Earth
To the people whom God delights in.
Amen. Amen.

Thank you so much...that was SOOO beautiful!!!! I have never heard this before! We enjoyed it very much!
That song is amazing, thank you so much for sharing it with the lyrics, it made it all the more more lovely to know the translation. I am glad you linked up for Music Monday today, have a merry Christmas!
That is a beautiful song. I love hearing songs, especially hymns, in their original language. Thanks for sharing. Having the lyrics in English helped too. Have a glorious Christmas.
Blessings,
Marcia
Found your blog through Adori Graphics. Love it! My favorite all time favorite hymn isIt is well with My Soul. That song ministered to me during a really difficult time in my life. The story behind it is so amazing, the hardship that the author suffered and yet he was still able to turn towards Christ and praise Him. Blessings! I'll be stopping back...:)
