Music Monday - Lord, Have Mercy

Sorry to be so late today, but I've been busy doing things that really didn't matter. Things that could have waited. Things that really shouldn't have a priority in my life (ie. talking on the phone, watching TV). Lately I have found myself prioritizing the wrong things and setting aside things that should have a priority. I have felt like I'm on a roller coaster that won't stop. Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I feel I'm falling. I'm not sure how to stop.

Actually, I know how to stop it. I need to sit down and relax in the presence of God. I need to ask for forgiveness for putting things first before Him. I need to remember that only God can bring me peace and contentment.

For the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not abandon or destroy you....
Deuteronomy 4:31a

Lord Have Mercy- Michael W. Smith (Amy Grant)

Jesus, I've forgotten the words that You have spoken
Promises that burned within my heart have now grown dim
With a doubting heart I follow the paths of earthly wisdom
Forgive me for my unbelief
Renew the fire again

Chorus
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
Repeat

I have built an altar where I worship things of men
I have taken journeys that have drawn me far from You
Now I am returning to Your mercies ever flowing
Pardon my transgressions
Help me love You again

Repeat Chorus

I have longed to know You and Your tender mercies
Like a river of forgiveness ever flowing without end
I bow my heart before You in the goodness of Your presence
Your grace forever shining
Like a beacon in the night

Repeat Chorus 2x

Michelle, I am at a loss for words right now. Your song choice fits me better right now than my own!! I pray you will find a way to make the most important thing a priority, I know how difficult it is sometimes.

Praying God's blessings over you today.

Don't know that I have ever heard this song before but I sure do appreciate the words!

Appreciate your honesty and vulnerability as well.

I'm a 39 year old (oh yeah I'm telling you my age) Stay at Home mom. A former Bad Girl now reformed sinner, I'm married to my Y2K guy and raising 3 great children from God. Proudly Canadian, however, missing the West Coast, I currently live in the prairies watching the farmers fields produce as I learn how God produces the fruits in me.
