Music Monday - It's All About the Princess

This week it's all about the princess.

She has ruled this roust since birth. She is Daddy's princess and Mama's little girl. She is a kindhearted little girl who is quick to make friends and loves to include new children in her play. She is a great help with her brothers and enjoys playing with both of them (of course, its her game or else). She prefers playing with her dolls to listening to Hannah Montana. She thinks Hip Hop is her Jungle Book cd. She loves to read. Trying not to sound like an overly proud mama, she is one of the top readers in her class and is already reading at a grade 2 level.

She is also very funny. Some of my favourite comments have come from her. Her teacher tells me all the time that Nicole makes her laugh everyday. She is a joy to all around her.

Above all she has a heart for God. She knows where he lives ("in the sky mommy, above the airplanes" (2 year old quote)). She is honestly saddened when she hears there are members of our family that do not have Jesus in their hearts.

When trying to pick her song for her baptism, I had great plans on choosing a praise favourite of mine. I can't even remember which one. My husband thought that a traditional hymn would be better. He was so right. I went through our church hymnal trying to figure out which one would be appropriate. However, it was through one of my worship cds that we were able to chose. It was a new spin on Blessed Assurance. When hearing the words I knew that I wanted her to always be assured that God was with her and would never leave her. Having been raised as a non-Christian this is something I still struggle with.

My hope is that she will always praise her Saviour and this is her song......

Blessed Assurance

(1) Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

O what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus: This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long;

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

(2) Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels descending bring from above,

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

(3)Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest;

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Now go and share your Music Monday with Shawntele at Saved by Grace. Hopefully she is finished moving back North and is not being swamped with boxes.

Your daughter is blessed to have a God-loving mother. I pray she will always be the little girl with the heart for God. Thanks sharing this part of your world with us.

I'm a 39 year old (oh yeah I'm telling you my age) Stay at Home mom. A former Bad Girl now reformed sinner, I'm married to my Y2K guy and raising 3 great children from God. Proudly Canadian, however, missing the West Coast, I currently live in the prairies watching the farmers fields produce as I learn how God produces the fruits in me.
